Kelly Brook has hit back after she was compared to a “whale” and told to lose weight by online trolls.

Brook, 37, received a barrage of abusive messages targeting her weight after she shared a picture of herself in a bikini while holidaying in Lac st Croix, France.

But the picture attracted a handful of trolls who referred to her as a “beached whale” and told her: “Maybe you should lose 5 kg.”

Another wrote: “Bro, you have gone a little chubby.”

Targeted: Kelly Brook has since deleted the post

Others accused her of using Photoshop to digitally alter her appearance with one commenting: “It’s a shame you feel the need to Photoshop your pictures to appear slimmer.”

Brook, who is dating Italian model Jeremy Parisi, deleted the picture and fired back at trolls, insisting she won’t let herself be affected by negative comments.

She tweeted: “I have thick skin!! Literally.

“I have Lovely Smart people follow me on social media who I like talking with! I will not let the negativity of a few stop me sharing.”

Fans were quick to share messages of support with one writing: “You are my body goals and have been for many years.”

A second tweeted: “You are true goddess!! Anyone shaming you is just pure evil!!!”

Others hailed her as “inspirational” and “gorgeously stunning”.

Brook has spoken previously about using Photoshop to alter her images, saying she doesn't understand what the big deal is.

“I’ve never said I’m perfect and I’ve never said I’m a skinny girl,” she told Fabulous.

“Sometimes if I see a picture and I can make it a bit better then I will, like everyone else does. I’ve been photoshopped in every picture since I started modelling. I [don’t] see any problem with it.”
