Justin Bieber is reportedly planning to take a break from music.

US website TMZ claimed the Canadian superstar has put his career on hold in a bid to rededicate “his life to Christ”.

The reports come weeks after he pulled the plug on his mammoth Purpose World Tour, telling fans that he is in need of “rest”.

Explaining why he cancelled the remaining 14 planned dates across Asia and North America, he told reporters in Santa Monica: “Yh I’m fine. Just resting and getting some relaxation. We're gonna ride some bikes.”

Asked if he has a message for his fans, he replied: “I love you guys. I think you guys are awesome.

“Sorry for anyone who feels disappointed or betrayed, it’s not like my heart or anything. Have a blessed day.”

Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun said the decision was taken to cancel the tour as “a man's soul and well-being I truly care about came first and we must all respect and honour that.”

The Sorry singer has performed more than 150 shows in six continents since kicking off the tour in March 2016.

Sources told TMZ that he will return to touring, but that he most likely won’t be on the road for two consecutive years again.
