Tottenham are a 'happy family', insists Mauricio Pochettino in swipe at Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino appears to have taken a swipe at rivals Chelsea by declaring Tottenham are a "happy family".

Spurs thrashed West Brom on Saturday afternoon to move up to second place in the Premier League table.

The Blues responded by restoring their seven-point lead at the top courtesy of a comfortable win over Leicester, despite top scorer Diego Costa playing no part at the King Power Stadium.

The Spain international was dropped following a rift with Antonio Conte, having received an offer of £30million per year to move to the Chinese Super League.

And, after watching his own star striker Harry Kane score a hat trick against the Baggies, Pochettino was keen to stress the importance of a unified camp.

"To be together and every player happy and part of our Tottenham family, I think we have a very good atmosphere around the club," Pochettino told the Daily Mail.

"Our supporters are amazing and I think this is a very good mix between the club, the supporters, the players, the staff.

"I think it's amazing day by day how we feel, how we live on the training ground. That is the important thing in the end to try to win big things, to fight."

Spurs have equalled a club Premier League record of six consecutive victories ahead of next week's trip to face Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola's side have fallen off the pace in recent weeks and Spurs will open up a six-point lead over their rivals with victory at the Etihad Stadium.
