Liverpool XI vs West Ham: Confirmed team news, starting lineup and injury latest for Premier League today

Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara miss the visit of West Ham as Liverpool look to increase the pressure in the Premier League title race.

Midfielder Thiago pulled up with a hamstring problem in the warm-up ahead of the Carabao Cup final and sat out both wins over Chelsea and Norwich as a result.

Also missing out is centre-back Matip, who is suffering from a non Covid-related illness.

The Reds beat Norwich 2-1 on Wednesday to set up a quarter-final trip to either Nottingham Forest or Huddersfield, but lost academy product Curtis Jones to an injury during the match.

“Curtis Jones played a really good first-half, we had to take him off because he felt his thigh slightly,” stated Klopp. “I don’t think it’s a real injury, but there was no need to take a risk and that’s why we brought Harvey [Elliott] on.”

The midfielder is fit enough only for a place on the bench, where he joins Diogo Jota as Luis Diaz is preferred alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Keita, Henderson, Salah, Mane, Diaz.

Subs: Kelleher, Milner, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Minamino, Jota, Origi, Elliott
