Taylor Swift fans are struggling to cope with her teasing, after she posted a video of a snake head.

She followed up with a clip of a red-eyed snake jumping up to the camera on Wednesday, which she posted without a caption.

It is unclear what Swift is teasing, or what the meaning behind the snake is, but fans have taken it to be a sign of new music.

The Blank Space singer has dropped an album on average every two years, but it has been nearly three years since the release of her multi-award winning album, 1989.

Fans went in to meltdown over the latest teaser with many begging her to release a new single.

US blogger Perez Hilton tweeted: “I CAN'T BREATHE!!!!!!”

Another fan posted: “Please post a snippet of the single Taylor I can’t anymore.”

Some eagle-eyed fans claim they have discovered confirmation of her upcoming single, which will allegedly be called Timeless, on Genius.

She is also rumoured to be debuting the music video for the upcoming single at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, which will be hosted by Katy Perry, who she is currently feuding with.

Swift has kept a relatively low profile since the breakdown of her highly publicised whirlwind romance with Tom Hiddleston last summer.
