SPECTRE: James Bond fans introduced to Bond girls Lea Seydoux and Monica Belluci in new vlog

James Bond fans have today been given a glimpse of the new Bond girls in a SPECTRE vlog.

The short video sees Monica Belluci and Léa Seydoux discussing their characters in the upcoming film, in which they star alongside Daniel Craig as the iconic 007 agent.

Titled, The Bond Women of #SPECTRE, Belluci – who plays Lucia Sciarra, the widow of an assassin killed by Bond – describes her character as “an Italian widow with secrets.”

Speaking about Belluci, 50 – who is the oldest Bond girl – director Sam Mendes said she is an “incredibly seductive presence”.

“In SPECTRE, the two women who Bond hooks up with, both have great mystery, they both have depths and for that you need fantastic actresses,” he said.

“I just thought well Monica Belluci makes sense in the story and the ages of the characters we’re dealing with and she’s an incredibly seductive presence.”

On leading Bond girl Seydoux – who plays femme fatale and psychologist Madeleine Swann – Mendez described her as "soulful feisty and complicated".

The latest installment in the Bond franchise sees a cryptic message from the past send the 007 agent on a rogue mission to Mexico City and Rome, where he meets Sciarra and infiltrates a secret meeting to uncover the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE.

Also starring is Christoph Waltz, who plays new Bond villain Franz Oberhauser, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw as Q and Jesper Christensen as Mr White.

SPECTRE is slated for UK release on October 26, 2015.
