Ryan Gosling lined up for Blade Runner 2 lead says Ridley Scott
US actor Ryan Gosling is being lined up to play the lead in the Blade Runner sequel.
Director Ridley Scott appeared to confirm months of rumours linking the Drive actor to the role in Blade Runner 2 which will also star Harrison Ford.
"I think Ryan Gosling is probably going to do it, with Harrison," Scott told Den of Geek.
When asked whether Gosling would be the central character, he replied: "Yeah, yeah. I can't really say more than that, because it'll give away the story. But Harrison’s definitely in it. In an important way."

Blade Runner 2 will follow on from the original 1982 film and will be set in Los Angeles in 2019.
Scott - who will produce the sequel - also revealed that Sciario director Denis Villeneuve was not his first choice to direct the film.
“It’s a hard one,” he said. “I asked somebody before, who I thought would be right – I would rather not say who it is. He just said, ‘I’m not going to do that, I’m never going to follow through on that'."
There is no official release date for Blade Runner 2.
