Lady Gaga announces plans for new single Perfect Illusion

Lady Gaga has announced plans for her brand new single, Perfect Illusion.

The pop star and actress, who has not released a solo album since 2013, revealed that the new track will be released in September.

Announcing the news on her Twitter page on Wednesday, the 30-year-old told fans that they had just a few weeks to wait for the new music.

Perfect Illusion will be produced by Mark Ronson, alongside Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and Bloodpop.

Gaga’s last solo album was 2013’s Artpop, although she released Cheek to Cheek, a joint album with Tony Bennett in 2014.

The pop star also released standalone single Til It Happens To You last year as part of the soundtrack to documentary The Hunting Ground.

As well as her new music, Gaga – real name Stefani Germanotta – has just been confirmed to star in the remake of classic Hollywood film A Star Is Born.

Bradley Cooper will make his directorial debut on the project, which will mark Gaga’s first leading role in a feature film.

The singer is also expected to compose and perform brand new songs for the film, in which she plays an aspiring starlet.

Judy Garland and James Mason starred in the 1954 version of the classic film, with Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson stared in the 1976 remake.
