Dani Dyer is focusing on her family in the wake of her split from boyfriend Jack Fincham, heading out with her actor father things “just didn’t work out” between her and her fellow Love Island winner.

The reality star, who emerged victorious in the 2018 edition of ITV2’s dating show alongside her ex, shared a short clip of her dad sat across from her in a restaurant.

She captioned the post “Date night,” adding a heart emoji and pink filter,

The actor, however, didn’t look too pleased to be snapped, keeping his eyes averted from the camera.

The 22-year-old’s post came shortly after she broke her silence on her break-up, dismissing claims that it had been a “publicity stunt.”

“It’s just one of them things [sic], it didn’t work out,” she told HuffPost UK on BUILD while promoting her new book. What Would Dani Do?

“There’s going to be a lot of stuff going on about it, but it’ll be fine. I wish all the best for Jack, it just didn’t work out.

“It is tough, you know? A lot of people are going to be like, ‘Oh, it’s a publicity stunt,’ but to be honest, I’d rather be with someone going through a book tour, it’d be nice to have that.

She added: “I don’t think there’s ever a right time for a break-up, is there? No one’s ever going to be like, ‘This is a nice time, oh, there’s Christmas, oh, there’s a birthday, oh, there’s Easter…’ There’s never a good time. It’s just happened, but it’s just one of them [sic] things.”

Fincham announced that he and Dyer had decided to part ways in an Instagram statement shared on Wednesday night, eight months after the couple were crowned the winners of Love Island.

“Me and Dani are not in a relationship anymore,” he wrote in the announcement, which has since disappeared from his account.

“We will always care a lot for each other and have love for each other and I mean that from the bottom of my heart and I wish her nothing but happiness.

“We have some amazing memories together and have been through a lot by sometimes things aren’t meant to be and we really did try to make it work.”

The news came after Dyer insisted that the couple were “absolutely fine” and “still love[d]” each other on an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, despite the fact that they had recently moved into separate homes.

“Me and Jack are absolutely fine… we love each other,” she told the presenter.

“When we first came out of Love Island, we moved into a flat together and we started filming [our own] show.

“It was sort of way too much and our flat became a work home. It was really hard because we weren’t having those exciting times where you miss each other.”

The couple, who first briefly split up in December, were the final pair from the 2018 series to call it quits.
