Cheryl has slammed claims that she mouthed a swear word during her appearance on The One Show, telling people to concentrate on her charity work.

The pop star, who was discussing her new role as the face of Childline on Wednesday’s programme, has denied that she nearly dropped the f-bomb.

Posting a clip of herself on the show, Cheryl wrote on Instagram: “’Cheryl turns the air blue when she mouths the F-BOMB’, someone tell me when? That word wasn't even in my mind!!!”

The 33-year-old went on to blast publications for trying to shift the focus away from her charity campaign:

“Dear media, please don't turn my important Childline Interview into your negative Nancy clickbait! Try reporting the truth. You might help young lives,” she wrote.

Speaking on the show, Cheryl said: “You come to an age where you've got through it, you've grown from those experiences, you learn, you become you, you're comfortable in your own skin.

“You just think go away, I honestly couldn't give a…,” she said, before trailing off.

Talking about being in the public eye, the singer added: “The reality is, it's hard work that you don't see.

“You see the glamorous, the red carpet, you don't see the feet afterwards, you see all the glamour and glitz, you don't see the hardship or the personal stuff that you're going through either."

Cheryl, who is dating One Direction’s Liam Payne, is reportedly pregnant with her first child.

She is yet to officially confirm the news and didn’t discuss the claims during the interview.
