Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by moped on Regent Street

A woman was rushed to hospital tonight after she was hit by a moped in central London.

The Met Police were called to the scene at just after 5.50pm tonight to reports of a crash between a moped and a pedestrian.

It happened southbound on Regent Street at the junction with Margaret Street.

A spokeswoman for the Met said the woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed temporarily while emergency services dealt with the crash.

At 6.45pm Transport for London said all lanes on Regent Street had reopened.
