Thought we’d reached peak ‘man bun’? Think again, because clip-on man buns are a reality.

Designed for discerning hipsters who want to sport the hair trend but don’t want to have to wait 6 months to grow out their locks, the clip-on accessories will allow you to match the dizzy topknot heights of Zayn Malik, Jared Leto and David Beckham.

Coupon website Groupon is running a deal in the US which will allow you to purchase a handy clip-on man bun for under a tenner.

Perhaps you work in an office that doesn’t look kindly on fun buns? Then this will surely be the accessory for you.

Coming in with three different shades - blonde, brown and black - the buns are, essentially, like the type you’d find in Claire’s Accessories, but more manly, of course. And although most will find a shade to suit, we imagine there’ll be a few ginger man bun fans disappointed with the colour selection.

Best of all, it looks like a doddle to physically clip it to your current ‘do. The website describes the application process as follows:

How To Wear It

1. Comb your hair back toward the crown of your head, in a similar motion to lacquering a reclaimed-wood coffee table

2. Attach the man bun to your natural hair the way the lay public attached itself to Arcade Fire

3. Use bobby pins to secure the man bun, decide bobby pins are too mainstream, use antique paper clips instead

There’s only one major drawback, sadly Groupon doesn’t ship outside of the US. But let’s hope they come soon to a wet shave barber-cum-tattoo parlour soon so we can all clip one on, brew up a fair trade coffee and assess where we go, as a society, from here.
