The time has come again to face the inevitable: the UK are probably never going to win Eurovision.

But in true British style, with grit and determination we’ll keep on entering optimistic singers who dream that they could be the ones to turn our fortunes around in the competition.

This time there are six hopefuls who reckon they can rock the vote, and the Great British public will be given the chance to choose for their favourite.

Airing on Friday, February 26, Eurovision: You Decide will see each act perform, before one is crowned as this year’s entry into the Hunger Ga- sorry, Eurovision final.

But will it be Joe and Jake, Bianca, Dulcima, Matthew James, Darline, or Karl William Lund who will attempt to take the crown?

Listen to the six songs below.

1) Joe and Jake – You’re Not Alone

This is as simple as an act name gets – Joe and Jake are, well, two lads called Joe and Jake, who met on Series 4 of The Voice.

2) Bianca – Shine A Little Light

Bianca used to be in girl group Parade, and her song Shine A Little Light has a co-writing credit from Leona Lewis.

3) Dulcima – When You Go

Sing-songwriters Tomas Twyman and Dulcima Showan make up this duo, who met as buskers in Canterbury.

4) Matthew James – A Better Man

Hat-wearing Matthew used to be in Nineties pop band Bad Boys Inc, and is now in a band called, erm, Madhen. The Eurovision final falls on his birthday this year.

5) Darline – Until Tomorrow

This acoustic duo are 18 year-old Cara and 20 year-old Abby, who have supported Radio 2 favourites The Shires on tour.

6) Karl William Lund – Miracle

This 29 year-old singer-songwriter has been writing his Eurovision song since 2012, inspired by his brother’s battle with cancer.

So, we do we have a winning song in there? Only time will tell - and prepare to phone in for your favourite at the end of the week.
