Love Island fans are convinced Mike Boateng is (already) about to let Leanne Amaning down

We’re just two days into the inaugural series of Winter Love Island but thanks to the first bombshell arrivals, there has already been plenty of drama.

Twins Eve and Jess Gale were late additions in episode one and last night (Monday, January 14), they ruffled feathers when forced to pick a man each to couple up with.

Eve chose Callum Jones (which didn’t leave Shaugna Phillips too happy) but it was Jess’s choice that received the biggest reaction online, as she stole Mike Boateng from Leanne Amaning.

Police officer Mike had become a fan favourite but the whole saga has got fans worried - do we have another “chaldish” Michael on our hands?

Numerous Twitter users pointed out that while Mike had promised Leanne that he was committed to getting helping her with her trust issues, he then told the twins he wanted to get to know them too:

And it wasn't long before fans compared him to an infamous former Islander...

When Jess then announced her decision to couple up with him, numerous fans caught the police officer smirking:

Tuesday (January 14) night’s episode will see the fallout from the first, dramatic recoupling.

Both Shaugna and Leanne were unhappy with the turn of events, and the former had kissed Callum while (correctly) fearing he would be stolen.

Later this week, a second will take place - and any women left without partners will be at risk of being dumped from the island.
