Now that the official line-up has been revealed, the countdown is on for the first ever of Winter Love Island.

The show, which first aired in 2005 before being revamped into its current format in 2015, will see a group of singletons couple up over roughly six weeks in a bid to be crowned the winners – and scoop a £50,000 cash prize.

Former winners include the likes of Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay, Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham and Amber Gill and Greg O’shea.

But this is the first time the show is taking place in the winter months, with the stars hot footing it to South Africa (not an island, we know).

But how long should we cancel our plans for? When will the series air until? Here's everything you need to know...

When does Winter Love Island start?

We'll finally get to see the Islanders enter the all-new villa on Sunday, January 12 at 9pm.

When is the finale?

ITV are yet to reveal when the series will wrap up and it's expected that - as has been the case in previous years - they'll announce the date of the grand finale at some point during the second half of the series.

Love Island typically airs for around six to eight weeks so keep your evenings free until the end of February.

Who's in the line-up this year?

Rochelle Humes’ sister, Sophie Piper, and Lewis Capaldi’s ex girlfriend, Paige Turley - who is said to have inspired his number one hit Someone You Loved - will both be among the stars heading into the villa.

This year will also see a set of twins – Eve and Jess Gale – appearing on the show for the first time. It’s not clear if they will go for the same man, be treated as a pair or as individual contestants. So far in the promotional shots and interviews for the series, the duo have been featured together.

Who's replacing Caroline Flack as presenter?

After Caroline Flack announced she was stepping down from the series, Laura Whitmore said she was taking over the helm. Whitmore has hosted a series of programmes prior to the notable gig including Survival of the Fittest, MTV News and The Brits Backstage coverage.

Whitmore was the rumoured frontrunner to take over the hosting gig after Flack said she was missing this series.

Will narrator Iain Stirling be back for the South Africa edition?

Yes – much to the delight of fans of the show, our favourite humours Scot will be giving his sassy commentary for this year’s series.

He confirmed he was taking part in the new season during an appearance on Good Morning Britain last year. Stirling told the programme: “Do you know what, it’s gonna be an absolute blast. Winter Love Island is gonna come back sooner than you thought and it’s gonna be enjoyable.”

He is also Whitmore’s real life partner.
