London ‘would be a fantastic city to have a zombie apocalypse’, according to The Walking Dead actor Michael Cudlitz.

Cudlitz, who plays Abraham Ford, said: “There are still not only castles but huge gated areas you could get behind so it’s kind of well equipped”.

The cast and director of TV series The Walking Dead sat down with London Live’s Toby Earle, ahead of the season six finale.

The horror drama, based on the comic book series of the same name, is set in the United States, but its director has not ruled out other locations.

Director Greg Nicotero told London Live’s Toby Earle the capital has potential for an appearance in the show: “we’ve never even addressed on The Walking Dead what is happening in Europe or Australia or Africa or America.

“So there could be a moment where the Royal Family flies in, on this great bomber and blows a whole field of walkers out and steps out of the plane and saves everybody”.

Actor Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene Porter, joked: “If I encountered someone from the Royal Family who was just shuffling towards me as a walker, I would be like ‘I’m sorry, I’m American, I don’t know how I’m supposed to address you first – your highness is it?’”
