Young Boks thriving

13 April 2012

Dewald Potgieter, a member of the Super 14 winning Bulls team, will lead the Emerging Springboks against the Lions in rain-lashed Cape Town.

The final midweek match of the tour sees some of the best young talent in South Africa - including flanker Potgieter - attempting to increase the gloom surrounding the Lions following their First Test loss and coach Dick Muir is confident his young men can win.

Muir is head coach of this team while also being an assistant to the senior Springboks and knows how to beat the Lions. He said: "We are blessed with a huge amount of talent and our players proved that.

"We are wary of the fact the Lions will be aiming to bounce back after their defeat but I am confident we will be very competitive tomorrow."

The Emerging Springboks contain nine players who have already played against the Lions on tour for their provincial teams.
