Worry for Henman

14 April 2012

Tim Henman faces an anxious wait to see who he will play in the first round of the US Open next week after being left out of the 32 seeds.

Despite being ranked 31st in this year’s ATP Champions Race, thanks to his recent win in Washington, the British No1 is only ranked 33 on the ATP entry system used by the United States Tennis Association.

The US Open begins in New York next Monday and the draw will be made at the United Nations centre tonight.

Andre Agassi, the current world No1, is the top seed, with Wimbledon champion Roger Federer of Switzerland at No2.

Belgium’s Kim Clijsters, the new world N01, is the top seed in the women’s singles.
