World champs make the cut

13 April 2012

All of England's World Cup winners were today named in a provisional squad of 18 for the inaugural ICC Women's World Twenty20 in June.

The 15 players involved in the triumph Down Under have made the initial cut along with Sussex all-rounder Rosalie Birch and uncapped duo Danielle Hazell and Georgia Elwiss. "We have enjoyed all the accolades but now we are fully focused on winning this tournament," said captain Charlotte Edwards (above).

The women's final will be held at Lord's on 21 June, ahead of the climax to the men's competition.
