Wood relinquishes outright lead

Chris Wood

Chris Wood's two-shot lead disappeared in one early hole on the final day of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

A double-bogey six at the 465-yard third, where he drove into trouble and then had two in a greenside bunker, dropped the 22-year-old from Bristol to six under par.

It meant a three-way tie with fellow debutant Danny Willett and Swede Robert Karlsson, but Karlsson then missed a six-foot par putt on the same hole.

They were all chasing a first prize in excess of £637,000, a five-year Tour exemption and, in the case of Wood and Willett, a place in next month's US Open as well.
