Wise wants big guns

Dennis Wise today set his sights on FA Cup glory and said he would love to play one of the Premiership big guns if Millwall beat Walsall tomorrow.

Wise, three times an FA Cup winner at Wimbledon and Chelsea, is expected to restore himself to the Millwall line-up in place of Aboubacar Fofana for the third-round tie at The Den.

The 37-year-old player-manager said: "If we can get through and get a big team here at The Den, then the whole place will be buzzing. It would be packed out and the atmosphere would be fantastic.

" I'd love to get Chelsea, Manchester United or Arsenal if we get through by beating Walsall. It would be great for the club and the players."

In 1995, Wise was a member of the Chelsea team who lost on penalties to Millwall in an FA Cup fourth-round replay.

He said: "I remember it well. It was 1-1 after extra time and very intimidating. It obviously went wrong and we went out on penalties.

"Millwall did extremely well and on the day deserved to win."

Meanwhile, Millwall chairman Theo Paphitis has told Premiership clubs they are going to be unlucky if they think they can snap up Millwall's stars for next to nothing during the January transfer window.

He said highly-rated midfielder Tim Cahill would go only if an irresistible bid was made.

It is thought Millwall would not consider selling the Australian midfielder, who has scored four goals in 25 games this season, for less than £4million.

Paphitis said: "I'm not interested in the transfer window. Everybody knows our position. I'll never say never. Everyone has a price and I'd be stupid to say otherwise.

"But we're not looking to sell any of our players, we're looking to acquire."

Tomorrow, striker Bob Peeters will replace on- loan Nick Chadwick, who has not been given permission to play by Everton.
