Wise made to wait for decision

13 April 2012

Leicester City's in disgrace midfielder Dennis Wise is expected to know his fate on Thursday after his bust-up with team-mate Callum Davidson during the pre-season trip to Finland.

Wise had originally anticipated learning what action had been taken against him today after an internal enquiry into the incident which resulted in Davidson suffering a double fracture of his cheekbone.

But Foxes chairman Martin George is viewing the affair so seriously that he is demanding a collective decision be taken by the Foxes board of directors rather than just a verdict based on the findings of himself and team manager Micky Adams.

George will present the facts of the incident involving Wise and Davidson to his fellow directors at a meeting on Wednesday, will make his recommendations on what course of action should be pursued - and then a vote will be taken.

City are determined not to be rail-roaded into any quickfire decision and are ensuring that everything is being done by the book so that there is no comeback if the course taken is to terminate former Chelsea skipper Wise's contract. That is why he was allowed to have his legal representative and a member of the PFA present at the internal enquiry.

A Leicester spokesman confirmed: "We now expect that an announcement regarding Dennis Wise will be made towards the end of the week."

Wise was sent home within hours of the alleged bust-up with Davidson, suspended by the club and told to stay away from their new Walkers Stadium and training ground.
