Wimbledon hit by McAnuff blow

13 April 2012

Midfielder Jobi McAnuff could be out for the rest of the season after suffering an ankle injury during the 2-1 home defeat by Bradford.

McAnuff left the field after only 10 minutes and was sorely missed as Wimbledon struggled to break down a determined Bradford side.

The injury came just two days after 19-year-old Lionel Morgan suffered damage to the knee against Crewe.

Stand-in coach Stuart Murdoch says he needs both players fit if the Dons are to have any chance of keeping their season alive by beating Wolves on Saturday.

Murdoch said: "We have lost both our wide men who have plenty of pace and to be without them is a real setback."

Last 5 League games: L2-1, W2-0, W1-0, W1-0, L6-2

Remaining League games: Saturday, Wolves (A), 21 Apr, Barnsley (H)

League position: 9th
