Wimbledon fans stage sit-in

13 April 2012

Wimbledon manager Terry Burton is pulling influential midfielder Trond Andersen out of Norway's international squad this week after he sustained an injury in the 3-1 defeat of Birmingham.

Burton said: "Trond took a heavy knock in the first half when I think the Birmingham players were showing they were up for it. Hopefully it won't be too serious."

New strike-force Neil Shipperley and David Connolly both scored on their debut with the third coming from a Darren Purse own goal.

Off the pitch, the Wimbledon Independent Supporters Association announced they are to meet the Football League chief executive David Burns this week to present their opposition to the planned move to Milton Keynes.

Around 3,000 staged a 45-minute sit-in after the game calling for the head of chairman Charles Koppel. They were addressed by Wimbledon communications officer Graham Thorley, who said the club would meet supporters too.
