Wilnis to get tricky with Etherington

Fabian Wilnis raised the temperature before Ipswich's Championship play-off semi-final, second leg against West Ham tomorrow night when he revealed that he intends using all the tricks of his trade to keep Matthew Etherington quiet.

Etherington tormented Ipswich in the first half of Saturday's 2-2 draw at Upton Park but was much quieter after Ipswich manager Joe Royle switched Wilnis to mark the West Ham winger.

Wilnis was booked for a challenge on the player but has no intention of holding back. "I will use all the tricks I am allowed to," said the defender. "I have played against Matthew a number of times and know he doesn't like playing against me.

"Things went much better for us after his influence went from the game and this is how I intend it to be again. He is a good player but I am confident I can handle him."

Etherington looks certain to recover from a bruised leg in time to play at Portman Road.

"I took some stick and I expect it to be similar next time," he said. "I will leave it to the referee to handle it and my focus must stay on my own form."

Should West Ham lose, the match will be Tomas Repka's last for the club. Although the Czech Republic defender still has a year to go on his contract he has agreed a deal to leave at the end of the season.

Repka, who was signed by Glenn Roeder for £5million from Fiorentina in September 2001, is one of the highest earners at the club and could have remained on his present contract until June 2006.
