Wembley boosts security

The Wembley Conference Centre won't be for the faint-hearted today as Essex boy Ronnie O'Sullivan takes on Irishman Ken Doherty and Jimmy White plays Peter Ebdon.

There was controversy earlier this week after poor crowd behaviour during White's victory over Stephen Hendry and the atmosphere is sure to be charged with fans' favourites White and O'Sullivan in action.

Security will be tight to ensure there is no repeat of the disturbances, including one individual who broke wind early in the match as Hendry prepared to line-up a shot.

Paul Hunter, champion in 2001 and 2002, reached the semi-finals by defeating last year's winner, Mark Williams, 6-5 last night.
