Webber wants to stay a Hornet

13 April 2012

Manchester United striker Danny Webber is hoping to extend his loan spell at Watford for the whole of next season.

Webber has been impressive since arriving from Old Trafford on transfer deadline day and wants to stay for next season so he can have a chance to fire them into the Premiership.

Watford were convincingly beaten 3-0 at home to Sheffield United on Saturday, but Webber believes there are big things ahead at Vicarage Road.

He said: "I always knew I could play first-team football and I am just glad Watford have given me the chance.

"Sir Alex Ferguson spoke to me before I came here and said it would be a great to work with Gianluca Vialli because he was one of the best strikers in the world."

Last 5 League games: L3-0, L2-1, D0-0, L2-0, W3-0
