Webb to take charge of Austria's match with Poland at Euro 2008

13 April 2012

Barclays Premier League referee Howard Webb will be in charge of Austria's
clash against Poland for his first match at the European Championships.

The Rotherham official is among the 12 referees UEFA appointed for the
tournament in Austria and Switzerland, with each now given their opening game.

Herbert Fandel's first match is Portugal against Turkey, which may be a good
omen for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Fandel was in charge of Manchester United's European Cup victories over Barcelona in April and Sporting Lisbon earlier in the season - when Ronaldo scored the winner against his former club.

Italian Roberto Rosetti will be in charge of the opening match of the tournament between Switzerland and Czech Republic on Saturday.
