We can only get stronger, says Walcott

Optimistic: "We'll know how to cope with things," says Walcott

Theo Walcott is sure Arsenal's young squad will be stronger after this season's disappointments.

Their challenge for honours faded in the second half of the campaign with boss Arsene Wenger blaming injuries and fatigue.

However, Walcott thinks Arsenal have learned much.

"The young players will take the experience into next year," said the 19-year-old England forward. "We'll know how to cope with things if they happen again.

"We've been playing brilliant football but not winning things. Hopefully, next season we can win a trophy."

Meanwhile, Lukasz Fabianski has paid tribute to departing star Jens Lehmann and thanked him for making him a better goalkeeper.

The Pole, 23, said: "I learned a lot. The most important thing was to be always 100 per cent professional."
