Waugh waits for showdown

Lawyers for Australian Test batsman Mark Waugh are meeting with the Australian Cricket Board today to settle a date for his interview by ACB anti-corruption investigator Greg Melick.

He is to interview Waugh about allegations contained in an Indian police report that he accepted money from an illegal Indian bookmaker in return for team, pitch and weather information.

Meanwhile, fast bowler Brett Lee is to have surgery and will miss the Australian tour of India starting in Mumbai on 27 February after straining a ligament and tendon in his right elbow.
