Watford's day may be a family affair

Ray Lewington could find himself up against son Dean when Watford meet Wimbledon tomorrow.

Dean, 19, has just missed out on a spot on the Wimbledon substitutes' bench in recent matches but dad said today: "There is a chance he could be in the squad, which will be interesting to say the least."

Watford will still be without injured trio Marcus Gayle, Micah Hyde and Gavin Mahon but Lewington said: "We are unbeaten in five matches now and confidence is increasing all the time.

"Mind you, Wimbledon must also be feeling pretty confident after beating West Brom in midweek. That was one of the First Division results of the season so far."

Tomorrow will be the first time Watford have played at Wimbledon's new Milton Keynes home and Lewington has backed the club's controversial move.

He said: "Wimbledon couldn't survive financially playing in front of such small crowds at Selhurst Park. They had to do something to get out of that situation."
