Watford boss Boothroyd hits out at Palace 'poor' claims

Aidy Boothroyd has criticised Crystal Palace for claiming poverty and insists they are one of the richest clubs in the Championship.

Boothroyd's Watford host the Eagles on Saturday.

Boothroyd said: "Crystal Palace are playing the underdog card very early, despite the fact they have more money than most teams.

"They have probably spent more on Simon's hair gel than other clubs in the division have spent on players."
