Wasps look to bring in Dallaglio and Vickery

Full of energy: Lawrence Dallaglio
14 April 2012

Wasps Director of Rugby, Ian McGeechan is hoping to announce the return of Lawrence Dallaglio and Phil Vickery for Sunday's EDF Energy Cup match at home to London Irish.

Dallaglio has yet to play this season, having had a plate removed from his ankle at the start of the summer while Vickery, who has recovered from back surgery, will be hoping to make his Wasps debut after joining the club in the summer.

McGeechan revealed both players should play an active part and added: "With our England players away until tomorrow we are not able to run a full training session until Friday so it will only be then that we will be able to have a good look at everyone and confirm the starting line up.

"However, providing Lawrence and Phil come through training, we anticipate they will both play an active part in the game on Sunday."

In addition, another who could be looking to make his season's debut is Irish international flanker Jonny O'Connor, who has not played since sustaining a neck injury in last April's Powergen Cup Final.

O'Connor has been training well for the past two weeks and is eager to get some action at the weekend.
