Warne moves to 520

14 April 2012

Shane Warne claimed his 520th Test wicket as Sri Lanka collapsed to 97 all out on the second day of the First Test at Darwin's Marrara Oval.

Warne took three for 20 to pass West Indies pace bowler Courtney Walsh's total of 519 and become second on the all-time list of Test wicket-takers.

He trails behind Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, who has 527 but is not playing in the series.

Paceman Glenn McGrath took five for 37 to move above former India captain Kapil Dev into fourth place on the list with 435 wickets in 96 Test appearances.

Australia, 110 ahead on first innings, also struggled with the bat and were 84 for five at tea, with stand-in skipper Adam Gilchrist unbeaten on seven.

Matthew Elliott, back in the side after an absence of five years, followed his firstinnings single with a duck but Darrren Lehmann struck his second half-century of the match.
