Walton set to regain card

Former Ryder Cup player Philip Walton of Ireland remained on course to regain his European Tour card despite a second successive 73 in the fifth round of the qualifying school finals in Spain.

Walton ended the day tied for 19th at fiveover 365, 14 strokes behind co-leaders Francois Delamontagne of France and Britain's Simon Wakefield.

The top 35 players and ties after today's sixth and final round will earn their tour cards for next year.
