Waldouck facing month on sidelines

12 April 2012

Dominic Waldouck's hopes of participating in England's autumn series are over after he was ruled out for four weeks with a fractured cheekbone.

Wasps centre Waldouck appeared set to be promoted from the Saxons to the senior squad on the back of his impressive form this season.

However, the 22-year-old clashed heads with team-mate Serge Betsen in Saturday's 35-6 victory over Gloucester and will now undergo surgery.

Wasps director of rugby Tony Hanks said: "It's disappointing to lose Dom at this time of the season.

"He's been playing some really good rugby for us and must have been asking questions in terms of national selection.

"Knowing Dom he will use these four weeks constructively to ensure that he picks up from where he left off come December."
