Walcott is on target in Hungary

Staking a claim: Theo Walcott netted three minutes before the break
13 April 2012

Theo Walcott scored but Arsenal could only draw 1-1 with Szombathelyi Haladas in Hungary.

The 19-year-old has been told by manager Arsene Wenger to stake a claim for a regular place in the team this season.

With Emmanuel Adebayor's future uncertain and Eduardo out with his broken leg until at least October, Wenger is looking for Walcott to make an impact.

The former Southampton forward did just that three minutes before the break when his 18-yard shot cannoned in off the far post.

Arsenal had fallen behind to last season's winners of the Hungarian Second Division in the 25th minute when Krisztian Kenesei beat the offside trap to chip over Manuel Almunia.
