Vogts wants to resume England games

13 April 2012

Scotland manager Berti Vogts wants to see the reintroduction of yearly internationals against England.

His squad flies out to Paris today ahead of Wednesday's friendly against world champions France as the German takes charge of his first game since replacing Craig Brown.

Vogts insists any future friendlies should be against top-level opposition as he prepares the national team for the 2004 European Championships.

Top of his list is the resumption of regular meetings with Sven-Goran Eriksson's side and Vogts said: "The fans would be very happy if we could watch the England team at Hampden every two years.

"I have a programme but why do we not play against England? I think we could also play against Brazil.

"For international games I am looking only for strong teams - Italy, England, Spain, Brazil - teams that will help us."
