Vialli looking for Smith boost

13 April 2012

Watford manager Gianluca Vialli is hoping Tommy Smith will be fully fit to play a big part in his side's next three away games.

Smith has missed the last three matches with a knee injury but came on as a substitute in the 2-0 win over Grimsby yesterday.

Vialli said: "I brought Tommy on for 20 minutes and he had three great opportunities. But when you haven't played for a little while, your confidence is not always that high. He only started training last Thursday but with a little more time he will be back to his best because he is a very important player for us."
