Unhappy Shevchenko commits to Blues

12 April 2012

Andriy Shevchenko has reiterated his commitment to Chelsea after admitting he feels unhappy at not playing regularly under new coach Avram Grant.

Shevchenko has failed to shine under Grant despite the introduction of a sprint coach and different training techniques.

Shevchenko told Sportske novosti: "We have good results (in the) last weeks, so it's difficult to complain. I'm not happy, but what can I do, I keep working and being quiet."

The striker had to settle for a place on the bench until the second half of the 4-0 defeat of Rosenborg in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Chelsea's billionaire owner Roman Abramovich was convinced that Grant was the man to get the best out of his misfiring striker but so far there has been little improvement.

But the Ukraine captain and his club's record buy moved to quash speculation over his future ahead of the transfer window in January by saying: "I am part of a Chelsea team that wants to win many things.

"Every player wants to play every game but I have total respect for the management and great players here and I love the club and our fans."

Meanwhile, captain John Terry has admitted he's running scared of the public after England's failure to qualify for Euro 2008.

Terry said: "It is going to take a very long time for the public to get over it. For us as well, you don't want to come out of your house or people to see you.

"As time goes on things heal and it gets easier, but at the same time when you walk down the street or are out you wonder whether people are looking at you, but life goes on."
