Turner in new Tigers deal

12 April 2012

Hull defender Michael Turner has signed a new contract at the KC Stadium.

The 25-year-old, whose previous deal was due to expire in 2011, is now committed to the club until 2013.

Manager Phil Brown told the Hull Daily Mail: "It's a massive positive for Hull City, players like Michael are the future of the club."

Turner has been hugely impressive in Hull's first season in the Barclays Premier League and the Tigers have been keen to secure his services for the long term.

Brown added: "He's agreed a two-year extension which keeps him with the club until 2013 and that's a massive step forward for us."

Turner, who joined Hull from Brentford in 2004, was tipped for England honours earlier in the season and linked with Manchester City and Liverpool.

He follows fellow defender Kamil Zayatte in committing his future to Hull, the Guinea international making his loan move from Swiss side Young Boys permanent last month.
