Trials decision angers runner

Chris Rawlinson has criticised Britain's officials for holding separate trials for the Commonwealth Games and European Championships.

The 400 metres hurdler believes the decision has increased the burden on Britain's medal hopefuls, especially with both events coming within a few days of each other.

"They are always harking on about athletes not competing too much then we have two trials," said Rawlinson, 30. "I am disappointed by the decision.

"No disrespect to the other athletes but the closest guy to me over the 400m hurdles is Welsh and the next English athlete is a second or so slower."
