Tourists arrive for private net session

14 April 2012

Pakistan hoisted the barricades between themselves and the public on Wednesday morning by insisting on a private net session at Lord's.

The tourists, who arrived late for the session shortly before 11am, have been unable to escape the highest of profiles since the fourth Test against England ended in an unprecedented and hugely controversial abandonment.

The squad was tight-lipped as they entered the ground via the East Gate. However, asked whether the one-day leg of the tour would go ahead, coach Bob Woolmer said: "I hope so."

Further pressed about the ongoing crisis, he sounded a note of frustration, saying: "Frankly I'm not interested any more," he said.

Woolmer and his team are nonetheless expected to play Thursday's tour match against Middlesex at Uxbridge. That goes ahead weather permitting.
