I wonder if Glenn Hoddle allowed himself a sardonic smile if and when he learned that Tony Blair was not in favour of sacking Labour spin doctor Jo Moore following her disgraceful e-mail on 11 September. Hoddle will no doubt think Jimmy Greaves was absolutely right about it being a funny old game when he recalls the Prime Minister's damning comments about Hoddle on TV, which certainly didn't improve his chances of keeping the England job. That's all in the past, though, and Hoddle must be more than happy with the progress of his Tottenham team right now.
Verdict: SPURS BATTER BORO
Ladbrokes odds: 1-2 Spurs, 5-1 Middlesbrough, 12-5 Draw
