Time to cash in on Glover and Co

There's a diluted domestic football programme this weekend due to World Cup qualifying games, but there is plenty of opportunities to cash in on the home front.

We have already touched base with Macclesfield this season and there is little doubt that Gil Prescott's men have one of the best rearguards in the Third Division, but it's the inability to score freely that has restricted them to just a couple of wins this season.

However, in Lee Glover they have a forward with predatory skills and he looks likely to add to his six goal tally at home to Kidderminster on Sunday. Last week, Macclesfield only managed a goalless draw at bottom club Exeter, but had several clear-cut chances to take all three points and should gain win number three at odds of 10-11 (Ladbrokes).

York City returned to winning form last week with a superb display at Lincoln City. The on-loan signing of Sunderland striker Mike Proctor has proved an astute move and he was once again outstanding in last week's 3-1 win. On Saturday York entertain Exeter and a price of 8-11 is just too good to miss.

Our third leg takes place north of the border and a chance for Raith Rovers to see off Division One leaders Airdrie. The visitors have a fine away record with three wins and a draw from four games but they have yet to play a side with the firepower of Raith and they are over priced at 6-4.

There is a fine weekend of horse racing in prospect and Golan is my pick for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Sunday, while I shall be having an each-way sortie on both Kuster and Bourgainville in the Tote Cambridgeshire at Newmarket.
