Three-match ban for Henry

13 April 2012

Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has been hit with a three-match ban by the Football Association for his outburst at referee Graham Poll.

Henry launched into an angry confrontation with Poll after the Hertfordshire official sent off Ray Parlour and awarded Newcastle a controversial late penalty in the Gunners' 3-1 Highbury defeat on December 18.

If Arsenal choose not to appeal against the verdict before the weekend, Henry will be ruled out of Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final at Newcastle and the FA Barclaycard Premiership dates at Aston Villa on March 17 and at home to West Ham six days later.

The 24-year-old made his comeback from a groin injury in the 1-0 defeat of Derby at Highbury last night - but today's FA disciplinary commission hearing at Heathrow's Meridian Excelsior Hotel has sidelined him again.
