Thorman passed fit for final

12 April 2012

Huddersfield captain Chris Thorman will lead the Giants out against St Helens in Saturday's Powergen Challenge Cup final at Twickenham after passing a fitness test on his injured hamstring.

The 24-year-old stand-off came through a rigorous training session unscathed.

Hooker Brad Drew has also recovered from a calf strain but Huddersfield will be without former St Helens prop Keith Mason, who injured a hamstring in training earlier this week.

The recovery of Thorman is a timely boost for Huddersfield, who are clear underdogs in their first cup final for 44 years.

"It's been a big turn-around for us," said Sharp. "Over the last two days we've pushed him to the maximum and he's got through every session with flying colours. He's 100% fit and really excited about playing.

"When you're playing big games you need your best players out there."
