Thomas facing fitness fight

Matt Hughes13 April 2012

QPR manager Ian Holloway hopes to have Jerome Thomas fit for tomorrow's Worthington Cup first-round tie with Leyton Orient.

The on-loan Arsenal midfielder limped out of Saturday's 4-0 win at Mansfield with a hamstring injury, but Holloway expects him to be fit for the trip to Brisbane Road.

He said: "Jerome isn't our player, he's Arsenal's and we have to be careful. I took him off as a precaution as his hamstring was tight, but it wasn't the one that troubled him before. He should be fine."

Clark Carlisle should also figure against Orient, after making his first league appearance in 20 months at Field Mill.

Holloway said: "I was delighted to be able bring Clark on after so long out, and very happy with the performance. Once we scored the second goal we were able to relax, and play more naturally. I can't really argue with the result, but that doesn't mean there aren't areas that can't be improved."
