Theo keen on Dichio deal

Millwall chairman Theo Paphitis is optimistic about signing Danny Dichio on a permanent deal.

The striker is on a month's loan from West Brom and has scored four goals in two games.

Millwall have been impressed by their new man and Dichio is keen to sign a long-term contract but may have to extend his loan while a deal is worked out. Paphitis, however, is hopeful about keeping the 29-year-old.

He said: "When we took him it was a chance for us to have a look at him, and vice versa, and see if we could structure a deal. That hasn't changed."

Dichio is eligible for Millwall's rearranged FA Cup fourth-round tie at Telford tomorrow night, although there are doubts whether the match will go ahead after heavy rain.
