The Sport go guide

What’s on in London — and elsewhere — this weekend
2 August 2013

Prudential RideLondon Festival (The Mall-Buckingham Palace, tomorrow-Sunday)

The Mayor will take to the saddle (not on a Boris bike, we hope) as the capital goes cycle mad. Petrol heads, stay clear.

BBC1, Sunday, 11.30am-2pm, 4.30pm-6.30pm

Emirates Cup (Emirates Stadium, tomorrow-Sunday)

Arsenal battle it out to lift the trophy for a fourth time. “It’s a good cup and the fans love it,” said Jack Wilshere. Cue sniggering at White Hart Lane.

BT Sport 1, 4.20pm both days

JP Morgan Rugby Sevens Series (Allianz Park, tomorrow)

Harlequins, London Irish, Saracens and Wasps scrap it out in Barnet. Expect tries, tries and. . . more tries.

BT Sport, 7.15pm

Third Ashes Test (Old Trafford, to Monday)

A certain Scot up the road from here loved to use the hairdryer treatment when his players goofed up. Maybe those involved with the DRS could be given a blast after yesterday’s shambles.

Sky Sports Ashes, 11am

Royal International Horse Show (Hickstead, tomorrow-Sunday)

Just about everything horsey happens here, from elite equestrianism to scurrying ponies dashing around traffic cones. Giddy up!

Sky Sports 3, tom 2pm, Sun 2.30pm

Glorious Goodwood (tomorrow)

Staying in West Sussex for more equine action, tomorrow brings the curtain down on five days of brilliant racing action. . . and Pimm’s drinking.

Channel 4, 1.30pm
